Dying Orchids

I like plants in my house, because not only that it looks nice but it also helps clean the indoor air. Plants used to die in my care, until I learned how to care for them through online searching. I am a happy newbie gardener now and having complements from friends for having green thumbs. But one plant keeps dying under my roof, Orchids!! I just don’t know how to keep it alive with flowers.

So this is the latest Orchids I purchased about 2 months ago. The leaves are still there but no flowers. The Flowers survived for only two weeks. So I tried putting it on my kitchen window and follow my friend’s advice to put about 3 to 4 cubes of ice once a week. I am planning to re-pot it with potting mix. I hope it will all work and keep this Orchids alive.

Then this Orchids I had for a years looks dying. It’s been suffering from some kind of sticky white molds. I am not sure but I think it’s some kind of fungus.

The first time I cleaned it, I wiped it with the natural pink solution but it doesn’t seems to work as the sticky white molds came back after few days or most likely, I didn’t cleaned it well.  So I tried cleaning it with Lysol wipes about 3 times already since spring, and it seems to work better than the pink solution natural cleaner.

I cleaned it just about three weeks ago and today, I didn’t see any white molds but the leaves are sticky. I cut the two leaves that is turning yellow.

I also cleaned the window area where I put this dying Orchids with Lysol wipes, hoping to kill any fungus or bacteria that’s killing my Orchids.

Well, let’s see how it goes.
