Quinoa As My Rice

I gained so much weight since our company closed on 2015. At my age, I thought I shouldn’t care much about how I looked but for my health sake, think I should care about what I eat. So learning from my niece in San Francisco during our stay in her house, Quinoa can be a good and healthier alternative for rice.

I put 2 cups of water in 1 cup of quinoa with 1 tbsp of vegetable broth. Boil it until the water dried. It taste good.

So I prepare my snack and lunch for work tomorrow,  and I promised myself to focus on eating healthy  and hoping to loose a little weight.

Quinoa for lunch with tofu for desert and cantaloupe with orange for my snacks.

Wish me luck.

Harvested Squash after my Vacation

Me and my family were away for a week to San Francisco to visit my niece who just recently purchased the house. We had so much fun. And when we got home, my husband harvested these 2 big zucchini and 5 butternut squash. I am so happy.

Funny things is, three of the squash plants was given by my neighbor and they said they don’t have any fruit. Same thing happen last year when they gave me 1 squash plant. I harvested 4 squash and they didn’t have any.

I can’t wait for fall to plant garlic to harvest next year. I will be planting variety of vegetables next year. I am also planning to plant some strawberries.

Galvanized For Garden Flowers

I purchased this Galvanized Bucket at Walmart for only $20 + Tax and the pink plastic bucket for less than $5. I am planning to use it as a pot for my annual flowers next year. I want to make sure that next year, my back and front yard will be full of flowers. I will put these two Galvanized Bucket on the front porch to give my front house a feel of rustic country style garden and I will add small pots around it.

As you see, I purchased a lot of annual flower seeds in preparation for next years gardening. One thing I learnef about annual flowers is that, they add extra striking colours in the garden and they grow faster as long as they are being watered everyday.

My garden is nice now compare to two years ago when I started cleaning my backyard. I painted some pink around my shed to make it look like a country cottage style and I am so happy with the outcome. It’s a continuous learning process and I really hope that next year I can achieve my goal of having a full bloom flower garden.

My Vegetable Gardening Learning Process

I’ve been always looking forward to spring so I can start gardening. Every year I am learning something on what’s Not and what should I do next year until I do it all right.

I purchased 2 Butternut Squash plants to grow and some other vegetables like eggplant, hot and bell pepper, zucchini, and bitter melon. My vegetable garden is covered with squash including my walkway.

So next year, I should do a bigger, taller and stronger support for my squash so it won’t take too much space on my vegetable garden.

I am so looking forward to fall planting garlic and hoping to harvest a lot of garlic to use for our cooking next year.

Finished Maiden fo Four Seasons Cross Stitch

I am so busy and unmotivated to post so I have a lot of things to catch up with. My Maiden of Four Seasons cross stitch is finally done. It took me 3 months to finish all of it and I am so happy to see it hanging on my staircase wall.

Then I have also finished the Virgin Mary Cross Stitch pattern printed on the fabric that I purchased online. It took me 45 days, which is longer than I expected,  because the fabric was too hard. I haven’t framed it yet.

I have been working on the Beagle pattern using the white fabric with sparkle that I purchase online. It’s also taking me long to finish this, because I am busy gardening. I hope to finish it soon so I can move on to my next project
