Garlic Bulbs for Planting

I have been waiting for the garlic bulbs to be available on store but they just don’t have it yet. And buying some garlic bulbs for planting online is ridiculously expensive. Then I found a seller who grow garlic on their own backyard for reasonable price. I drove just about 20 mins to  I pick 12 Garlic Bulbs for Planting.

I am so happy that my search for Garlic Bulbs for Planting is finally over. I can now grow garlic on my backyard. Although it’s still early to have Garlic Bulbs since I am planting it on my backyard sometime next month, I just want to make sure that I have the Garlic Bulbs because I seriously want to try growing Garlic on my own. And who knows, I might be able to sell it online someday.

Starting to Grow Strawberries 🍓

My kids love strawberries so I thought of growing strawberries in my garden and hoping to grow more on years to come.

I purchased this strawberry plant last spring and I am so happy that it is starting to produce some fruits. Not only that, it is growing fast and producing new baby plants.

I am having a second thought of planting it directly on the ground or on pots. I have a dog so it has to be a high raise bed.

It also said that strawberries shouldn’t be planted near vegetables or place where you previously grow vegetables, so I can’t plant them on my vegetable garden.

Hence, I am  thinking of buying some nice pots for my strawberries to make it look nice to put somewhere in my backyard.

Growing Garlic Indoor Update

As I’ve mentioned on one of my posts, that I am Trying To Grow Garlic Indoor. Here is the update after less than three weeks since I planted the garlic cloves. I am still waiting for about 3 more cloves to sprout.

I am so happy to see some sprouts. I never thought that it will grow because the cloves that I planted were to get spoiled. But anyway, these batch I am planning to bring indoor before winter. I will plant more to grow on my vegetable garden on Fall to leave on winter, and hopefully to harvest more next summer

Parsley From My Garden

I am running out of dried parsley for cooking so, I harvested some parsley leaves from my garden to dry.

I washed it and hanged it outside for now. I will bring it inside when the water stops dripping and let it completely dry.

I have so many parsley plants on my garden because I thought it’s an annual plant. Parsley is perennial herb plant that dies on the winter and grows back on spring.

There are different types of parsley but the one that I planted grows 4ft tall. The flowers look nice so I left it. But it started looking bad so I pruned it. I am planning to kill some of the parsley that I planted and leave one to grow.

Mosquitos Trapper

This Mosquito Trapper not only looks nice but it also work. I love the fact that not only that it catches mosquitos but it also trap those annoying moths.

At first, I though it was another fake advertisement, but then I realized that there are not much mosquitos to catch inside my house. So I put it outside just beside the sliding door going to my backyard. And yeah!!!! It work!!!

Mango Scent Moisturizer

I purchased this awesome Mango Scent Moisturizer last Saturday at the Vegan Fest we went to at Downtown Toronto.

It’s kinda expensive but it’s very effective in moisturizig my dry hand. One drop is enough and I  can see the effectiveness once my skin absorbs it.

My hand always touches chemicals at work, that’s why I need this kind of Moisturizer.

I don’t think there is a store where you can buy it, but I am happy that my daughter found their online store.

I love it’s mango scent!! They have lavender scent too which is also lovely.

I actually didn’t know that Squash Flowers can be cook. So I collected some Squash Flowers from my garden to give to a friend.

I don’t know how much are needed for cooking, but for now, I want to give it to my friend and see if this is enough for cooking.

I also took some Squash Tops although I don’t really know which tops of the squash is good.

I just love this new found hobby of Vegetable Gardening

Fruits for Heathier Lifestyle

I feel so unhealthy. My weight keeps going up. No clothes fits on me anymore. I really think it’s time to loose a little weight and feel good when I put on my clothes. Because all I wear are t-shirts and sweat pants.

Not that I want to loose a lot of weight so I can wear sexy clothes, I just think I put on so much weight.

My first focus is to eat at heathy as I can. I am substituting white rice to Quinoa. Avoid too much meat. Eat more fruits and vegetables.

I will always make sure that there are always fruits in my kitchen so when I get hungry, fruits are there to fill me up.

I love mango, so I will definitely be slicing them when I want it. Strawberries are essential but I am not really a fan. I love cantaloupes but it’s so much effort to prepare it. So I slice cantaloupes and strawberries and mix them together. This way, I can just scoop it when I need it .

It will also be easier for kids to eat cantaloupes and strawberries.

Organic Bittermelon From my Garden

What a joy to be able to harvest some vegetables from my vegetable garden. I love Bittermelon, both the fruit and the leaves. And I am so happy to get some of it, fresh from my garden.

There are more leaves to harvest but I will take my time to let it grow for a couple of days. I will be stocking some leaves in my freezer.

I love gardening!!

Collecting Good Butternut Squash Seeds

I love gardening. Its fun to learn how to grow some of my favorite Vegetable in my own backyard.

One of my favorite vegetable that I want to grow in my backyard is Butternut Squash. I want to start it from seeds for next year. So according to my online searching, collecting good butternut seeds is through;

1. Washing the seeds and remove as many flesh as you can.
2. Then soak it in water for about 3 to 4 days. Good seeds will settle at the bottom.
3. Separate good from bad seeds.
4. Then dry the good seeds in a baking sheet or foil
5. Store in a cool place

Hmmm..  I think the good seeds are ready to be collected and dry.

So I am drying it using paper towel to absorb some water. I will transfer it to a baking sheet tomorrow and let it dry in the basement.

We will see how it goes for next year’s Gardening adventure . Wish me luck ..

Messy Vegetable Garden

This is my Messy Vegetable Garden. An obvious garden of inexperience gardener. This is my second year of Vegetable gardening, and it is really a challenge how to grow vegetables while keeping the garden looks neat and tidy.

I made another trellis to hang some of the squash vines that’s growing on the ground,  and it really looks messy still.

But at least, it cleared up the front pathway,  and it looks better in a distant view .. 🤣

I guess, this is another lesson to keep for next years Gardening. I need a bigger, taller and stronger trellis for my butternut squash.

I was advice by my friend not to plant butternut squash and just buy it at the store. But I love butternut squash so I will grow it again next year. I just need to create a good trellis to accommodate the space it needs to grow.

Trying To Grow Garlic Indoor

I purchase some Garlic Bulbs about 2 weeks ago. And my mistake is storing  them inside my pantry in a plastic bag. There is no air circulation so some of it got spoiled.

I put few holes on this plastic pink bucket. Then tried collecting good cloves of garlic and plant it in this bucket. I am planning to bring this inside before winter.

I will see if I still can harvest good garlic in about 10 months from now from this bucket.

For the meantime, I went to my favorite garden store to ask for some good garlic bulbs. They said, they will have them on September which is a perfect time to plant garlic outdoor. In case, they run out of stock for me in September, I will order them online.

I am really serious and excited to grow garlic, both indoor and outdoor. Wish me luck!!

Dying Orchids

I like plants in my house, because not only that it looks nice but it also helps clean the indoor air. Plants used to die in my care, until I learned how to care for them through online searching. I am a happy newbie gardener now and having complements from friends for having green thumbs. But one plant keeps dying under my roof, Orchids!! I just don’t know how to keep it alive with flowers.

So this is the latest Orchids I purchased about 2 months ago. The leaves are still there but no flowers. The Flowers survived for only two weeks. So I tried putting it on my kitchen window and follow my friend’s advice to put about 3 to 4 cubes of ice once a week. I am planning to re-pot it with potting mix. I hope it will all work and keep this Orchids alive.

Then this Orchids I had for a years looks dying. It’s been suffering from some kind of sticky white molds. I am not sure but I think it’s some kind of fungus.

The first time I cleaned it, I wiped it with the natural pink solution but it doesn’t seems to work as the sticky white molds came back after few days or most likely, I didn’t cleaned it well.  So I tried cleaning it with Lysol wipes about 3 times already since spring, and it seems to work better than the pink solution natural cleaner.

I cleaned it just about three weeks ago and today, I didn’t see any white molds but the leaves are sticky. I cut the two leaves that is turning yellow.

I also cleaned the window area where I put this dying Orchids with Lysol wipes, hoping to kill any fungus or bacteria that’s killing my Orchids.

Well, let’s see how it goes.

Beagle Cross Stitch Project

I am disappointed but happy with my Beagle Cross Stitch project. Disappointed because it’s more than 2 months now that I have been working on this project. Why??? Because I am busy Gardening. Not to mention that I am working full time and have a house and family to take care of.

I am happy because I can finally see the face of my Beagle dog. Hahahah!! It’s cute and I can’t wait to see it hanging on my wall.

Cross stitching is one of my hobby that makes me feel happy. But since it’s summer, Gardening is also my hobby that takes some of my time and energy. That’s why the progress of my Beagle Cross Stitch pattern is very slow.

Quinoa As My Rice

I gained so much weight since our company closed on 2015. At my age, I thought I shouldn’t care much about how I looked but for my health sake, think I should care about what I eat. So learning from my niece in San Francisco during our stay in her house, Quinoa can be a good and healthier alternative for rice.

I put 2 cups of water in 1 cup of quinoa with 1 tbsp of vegetable broth. Boil it until the water dried. It taste good.

So I prepare my snack and lunch for work tomorrow,  and I promised myself to focus on eating healthy  and hoping to loose a little weight.

Quinoa for lunch with tofu for desert and cantaloupe with orange for my snacks.

Wish me luck.

Harvested Squash after my Vacation

Me and my family were away for a week to San Francisco to visit my niece who just recently purchased the house. We had so much fun. And when we got home, my husband harvested these 2 big zucchini and 5 butternut squash. I am so happy.

Funny things is, three of the squash plants was given by my neighbor and they said they don’t have any fruit. Same thing happen last year when they gave me 1 squash plant. I harvested 4 squash and they didn’t have any.

I can’t wait for fall to plant garlic to harvest next year. I will be planting variety of vegetables next year. I am also planning to plant some strawberries.

Galvanized For Garden Flowers

I purchased this Galvanized Bucket at Walmart for only $20 + Tax and the pink plastic bucket for less than $5. I am planning to use it as a pot for my annual flowers next year. I want to make sure that next year, my back and front yard will be full of flowers. I will put these two Galvanized Bucket on the front porch to give my front house a feel of rustic country style garden and I will add small pots around it.

As you see, I purchased a lot of annual flower seeds in preparation for next years gardening. One thing I learnef about annual flowers is that, they add extra striking colours in the garden and they grow faster as long as they are being watered everyday.

My garden is nice now compare to two years ago when I started cleaning my backyard. I painted some pink around my shed to make it look like a country cottage style and I am so happy with the outcome. It’s a continuous learning process and I really hope that next year I can achieve my goal of having a full bloom flower garden.

My Vegetable Gardening Learning Process

I’ve been always looking forward to spring so I can start gardening. Every year I am learning something on what’s Not and what should I do next year until I do it all right.

I purchased 2 Butternut Squash plants to grow and some other vegetables like eggplant, hot and bell pepper, zucchini, and bitter melon. My vegetable garden is covered with squash including my walkway.

So next year, I should do a bigger, taller and stronger support for my squash so it won’t take too much space on my vegetable garden.

I am so looking forward to fall planting garlic and hoping to harvest a lot of garlic to use for our cooking next year.

Finished Maiden fo Four Seasons Cross Stitch

I am so busy and unmotivated to post so I have a lot of things to catch up with. My Maiden of Four Seasons cross stitch is finally done. It took me 3 months to finish all of it and I am so happy to see it hanging on my staircase wall.

Then I have also finished the Virgin Mary Cross Stitch pattern printed on the fabric that I purchased online. It took me 45 days, which is longer than I expected,  because the fabric was too hard. I haven’t framed it yet.

I have been working on the Beagle pattern using the white fabric with sparkle that I purchase online. It’s also taking me long to finish this, because I am busy gardening. I hope to finish it soon so I can move on to my next project

Kitchen and Bathroom Drainer

I got this Kitchen or Bathroom Drainer online coming from China. I ordered two to use one in my kitchen and one for my bathroom. I was expecting it to be soft but it’s not but it’s ok. I didn’t ask for refund and use it to drain kitchen sponge and toothbrush to keep it dry

I also ordered this kitchen plate drainer and pretty much the same. It’s not soft as I expected.

It’s pretty much effective in draining water so bacteria won’t build up.

You still need to wipe and sanitize it.

Car Celphone Sticky Holder

Just one of the little stuff I ordered online coming from China that I am pretty happy to have.

It’s s car sticky cellphone holder that is very space saver and quite effective in holding a cellphone while using it as GPS.

What I love about it is that, I don’t have to use any screw or sticky pad that has a glue that can damage my car. I simply put it on top of my dashboard and it won’t move..

Semi DIY Frame for my Cross Stitch

I’ve been to different custom frame studio and ends up all the same price for custom framing for my Maiden of Four Season cross stitch project. Since I divided it to 4, it will cost me CND$100 for each and a discounted price of CND$300 for four frames!!! Are you serious??? And that is only for a standard frame!!! I was so devastated..

I looked around and found this frame in an art store. It’s perfect for canvas and crossstitch projects that needs some stretching for framing. It cost $30+ tax. Yey!!!

There’s a lot of design frames to choose from but this is the only design for this type of cut and size. Very simple and neat.

I am more excited to make more projects as I don’t have to worry about the expensive cost of customs framing for my cross stitch... so glad!!!

Day 46 for Spring and Summer Maiden of 4 Season

Finally, the Spring and Summer Maiden of 4 Season is finally done. I am now moving on to Day 1 for Autumn Maiden of 4 Season.

I am still debating whether I should have it frame or wait until the Autumn and Winter Maiden are finish and frame it all together.

I can’t wait!!!

Car Aroma Humidifier Disappointment

I just mentioned on my previous post how happy I was receiving this Car Aroma Humidifier  I ordered online. I was so happy how it works and always excited to use it whenever I am driving. Guess what??? After 3 days of using it, it’s now broken!!!! It suddenly stopped working

The blue light indicates that it is ON and supposedly producing mist or a light smoke but there’s none !!!

I am so sad!!!

The money will be refunded !!!

Car Aroma Humidifier

The Car Aroma Humidifier that I ordered online finally arrived. I am so happy how I can use my favourite essential oil to make my car smelling like a SPA. At the same time, it helps to moisturizer my skin while inside my car.

It actually came from China so I am happy that it arrived two weeks earlier than I expected.

I don’t like using other scenter in my car because it triggers my allergy, so I used essential oil and this one is perfect. However, if you are living in a country like Canada, where everything gets frozen outdoor during winter season, you might want to bring it with you indoor and just plug it back when you are ready to use it again.

Patience

The 6 cross stitch patterns I ordered finally arrived yesterday and I am so pleased with how nice it is to see them all hanging on my walls.

It’s a little bit frustrating how long can I start doing all these patterns with the all patterns waiting for me to finish.  Cross stitching truly teach you PATIENCE.

Three Tier Container in One for Cross Stitching

I ordered this Organizer Container online last month. The item came from China that’s why it took more than a month for the shipping but it’s ok. I am happy to have it. It helps keep my crosstitching work easier and organized when grabbing threads, beads and small supplies I need.

I ordered 3 separate items and attached it together to put more threads and supplies.

I wish it’s a little bit wider so I can put my fabric and pattern without doing several folds. So I just put the fabric and pattern in a separate ziplock bag.

Summer Maiden of 4 Season at Day 22

It’s day 22 for my Summer Maiden of 4 Season. I started the beading yesterday then I will start the beading with Spring Maiden after.

I am so hooked to this cross stitching. It takes a lot of patience though, but it’s all worth it every time I see how beautiful it is even it is not fully finish. I can’t wait to see my house full of my cross stitch projects.

Summer Spring Maiden of Four Seasons

I’m about 90% done with the Spring Maiden of Four Season last Sunday. 90% means that there are still few touches to make like the beads. I have to go back to the store to buy the beads, but for the meantime, I started and will finish the Summer Maiden before I go back to the store to buy all the beads and threads I need for all 4 Maidens. I can’t wait to see these hanging on my wall and to start a new project. I am thinking of starting the Angels of 4 Seasons but we will see.

I am so hooked to this hobby that I keep buying patterns and imagining them all hanging in my house.

These hobby is not cheap.. It’s actually expensive if you will count the money I am spending and the time I consume , but it relieve stress and gives me something to look forward on doing each day. So it’s all worth it. We all need to have some pass time!!

Big Order Before They Discontinue

The big set of cross stitch pattern I ordered online arrived last week, and I am so happy. I know it’s crazy to order this much knowing that I just started a new project and it will take a while before I finish it and start doing another one.

I like all these patterns and when I found out that they usually discontinue selling most of their items, I thought of buying it before they discontinue selling them. In fact they have to refund the money from one of the item from this order because it’s gone already.

There’s another order coming in few weeks!!! Hehehe

It will take years before I finish doing all of there.

Spring Maiden of Four Seasons Project

I welcomed the new year crossstitching hahaha. Superstition says I will be doing this for the whole year. Oh yeah, you bet I will, because the projects is already lined up and I can’t wait to finish them all.

I started my cross stitching project with this Maiden of Four Season. I divided the pattern into 4 separate fabric, starting with Spring Maiden. I am hoping to finish each Maiden in a month and hoping to hang the four Maidens on my stairways before summer.
