How Often To Change Bedsheets

I have three Bedsheets set to alternately replace the other but I made the mistake choosing one of it because I don't like get texture of the fabric. So I end using only two Bedsheets Set every week.

They said that Bedsheets should be change two times a week, but that's too much work especially that I have the type of duvet where it functions like a pillowcase.

So I only change my Bedsheets once a week ( every weekend ) and every two to three weeks for my 2 daughters .

How about you, how often do you change your Bedsheets???!

Homemade Lotion Recipe in Pump Bottle

Finally, I made a Homemade Natural Lotion recipe that works in a Pump Bottle. I am

So happy!!!
3/4 Cup of Oil ( your choice of combination or just one kind. I use Grapeseed Oil)
1 Tbsp Cocoa Butter
1 Tbsp Beeswax
1 tsp Vit E oil
1/4 Cup Water
15 drops Essential Oil

1. Melt the Butter and Wax with the oil and water. Stirring constantly. Do not Boil.
2. When all is melted continue stirring while adding the Essential Oil
3. Cool inside the fridge for about 15 min or until it looks solid
4. Whip until you reach the smoothness
5. Pour with spoon or spatula in a pump bottle

The more water you put the more thinner it will be, but the more chance of separation.

I made this recipe simplier because the original recipe needs some oatmeal blablabla!!' I find it too much waiting!!!

I love the previous Moisturizer Recipe that I made but it's too thick. It's more like a Butter.  I want a recipe that is thinner so the application is much faster and easier. And a recipe that can works in a pump bottle like a regular lotion.

I always try it in a small bottle for testing. Now I am ready to find a nice pump bottle for my Homemade Natural Lotion. I made this yesterday...

You can try if you want

Organizing Small Bathroom Countertop

My bathroom in the basement is semi functional because the shower room is not working.

Since me and hubby stays in the basement, we often use the sink and the toilet bowl.

The countertop is small and I hate opening ang closing the small cabinet so I thought of putting this Shower Caddy to put all my regularly use personal stuff like facial cotton pads, facial cleanser etc..,

I am hoping that someday we will have enough budget to renovate our basement to make is more functional, but right now I am thankful that at least we have a humble house we called "HOME"...

Why Make Toilet Bomb Cleaner??

I just made this Natural Toilet Bomb Cleaner using this recipe

    1 Cup Baking Soda
    1/4 Cup Citric Acid
    20 drops Essential Oil
Mix and mold and wait to dry
12 pieces!!! Huh!!!!

This is toooooo much effort for a toilet bowl cleaner. Even if I am not working full time, I am not going to spend time doing this just to clean my toilet bowl especially that I have 3 toilet bowls to clean. Also Citric Acid is hard to find and mind you, it's not CHEAP!!!!
I actually use Vitamin C and grind it..

My purpose of making Homemade natural products is due to allergy, and to save money because all these natural products we buy in store are expensive !!!

Why make this Toilet Bomb when all you can do is a very easy, simple and cheap recipe like this
       1 Cup Baking Soda
       1 Cup Vinegar
Mix and wait until the bubble subside then put in a squirt bottle and shake. It separate so shake it before using

This I use for daily cleaning especially on my powder room because this is the most used toilet bowl in the house. Once a week I will add 1/4 Cup of Alcohol or Hydrogen peroxide on all my toilet bowl...,

I also use this base recipe as my Dish Soap.

Why make life complicated when you can make it easier and cheaper !!!

Small White Kitchen

My kitchen is small and white that's why I always try my best to keep it clean and uncluttered. But even if it is small, I am so happy and proud of it.

I am trying to make it look like a cottage design because this is where me and my family stays. So making it look like a cottage feels relaxing and comfortable

Beeswax On Electric Wax Warmer

When I learned that Beeswax can help clean the indoor air, I started burning Beeswax in my house. And then I saw some nice Electric Wax Warmer at Walmart. So I purchased few because I find it easier and safer than using candle or tea light candle on wax burner.
Black Wax Warmer in my room
Wax Warmer in my Basement
Plugin oil/ wax burner in my little kitchen in the basement. My dog cage is there
Wax Warmer in my family room or TV area near my kitchen
And Wax Warmer on our Living Room
I use this Essential Oil diffuser using just water, on my kitchen whenever I am cooking
I am going all natural inside my house due to allergy and I find Beeswax very helpful

Natural Homemade Dishwasher Cleaner

For 5 years I use my old dishwasher on a daily basis without even doing any regular cleaning maintenance. Lack of knowledge and experience plus a very busy life, so my dishwasher last only for 5 years.

I purchased new dishwasher last year when my kitchen was renovated. To my fear of breaking it again, I only use it 1 to 2 times a month.

Now that I've learned how to do maintenance cleaning using no chemicals, I thought of using it again on a daily basis and see how it goes.
  1. Empty your dishwasher, and remove or pull out the lower dish rack as far as possible. Locate the drain, and clean around it, removing the filter and thoroughly washing. Check all the spinning arms, and clear holes of debris or buildup with a paper towel.
  1. Place one cup of plain white distilled vinegar in a container on the bottom rack of the dishwasher. Now pour a half-cup of baking soda on a small dish and place on the top rack.

I still have a lot of  Cascade Diswasher Sacket and I can't wait to finish it all so I can use chemical free dishwasher detergent. I tried using heavy mix of Pink Solution and so far I am happy. But I like to try some recipe like this one;
  • 2 parts borax ( I will omit this)
  • parts washing soda
  • 1 part citric acid
  • 1 part salt
  • essential oils for scent (completely optional)
I also still have some Oxyclean Rinse but once it's done, I will be using White Vinegar instead.,,

Using my dishwasher on a regular daily basis will be less work for me and will keep my kitchen always nice and clean!!!!

I am so happy to learn about making my own homemade household products. Not only it's safe but it will save me money

My Reusable Napkins

I am serious when I said I want to save money and one of the thing in our house that keeps running out so fast are the tissues or napkins.

So I thought of making a reusable tissue in a box. All I have to do is wash it and put it back on the napkin box that I personally made. How's that???
I just put one small container on our powder room so I can just throw the used cloth and wash it.

Nasty??? Why??? My kids don't like the idea so they still use the regular disposable napkins. Look, I have active bladder and I go back ang forth in the washroom plus I have allergy so I sneeze a lot.

To make sure it's all clean and disinfected, I run it in the washing machine for few cycle with Oxygen and alcohol, and soak it together with other small clothes like undies and socks for about an Hour or sometimes overnight, before completing the wash cycle.

I purchased the box in Dollarama and put a hole just like a regular tissue box. The good thing about this box is I can open it and easily put a new clean batch of clothes.
The reusable clothes that I use is just and old t-shirt. I cut it into a small rectangle size and run the edges on my sewing machine and then fold it overlapping to function like regular tissue box.
I love that I can put a cotton pad on the side with few drops of essential oil so every cloth smells so good. Love it

Will you make one to save money?

Natural Grease Fighting Dish Soap Recipe

I am happy using Pink Solution for almost everything inside my house for cleaning including as my Natural Dish Soap. However, I am missing that soapy, foamy and little bubbles lather. So I tried recipes that I found on the internet wherein most of them includes grated soaps. Like this one;

2 Cups of Water
1/4 Cup of Grated Natural Soap ( I use Ivory or Coconut)
1Tbsp Washing Soda
Few drops of essential oil (optional)

Simply melt the grated soap in boiling water, mix and shake everything

Yes I love it for my hands and it cleans my dishes BUT my sinks gets sooooo greasy!!!!!
I have to sprinkle little baking soda and spray vinegar to remove the grease on my sink,,, ahhhh

So why not mix baking soda and vinegar to make it as my Dish Soap
1 Cup Vinegar
1/2 Cup of Baking Soda
Mix and put it in a pump Bottle
You can add 1 Tbsp dish soap
But I prefer mixing 2 Tbsp Heavy Mix Pink Solution for a little lather
I love it!!!!

It separate though, so you have to shake it before using.

I also use this recipe as my Regular Daily Toilet Bowl Cleaner (in a squirt bottle) and Spray Hydrogen Peroxide at least once a week..,

What works for them might not work for you, and vise versa. So experiment and have fun with it. Try it in a small container like what I have right now on the picture (got it at Dollarama), so you don't waste too much !!!

It's safe and economical!!!

Pink Solution For Natural Detergent

Here I am ready to share my experience about this wonderful Pink Solution.

My customer cancelled her appointment today so I thought I would end up cross stitching the whole day, but then I have to go to Costco to buy few things for our home. I took few pictures to show prices that I am using before to compare the savings that I will get from Pink Solution.

So as I've said, I found Pink Solution online on my journey in finding a cheaper Natural Plant Based Laundry Detergent.
There are two types of Pink Solution that I purchased at Costco online. The 2 L of Clean to use for my laundry and eventually learned that I can use it as all purpose cleaner, bathroom cleaner, floor cleaner, even for dishwasher..this is very concentrated so, only 1/2 Cup to melt and mix in 1 Gallon of hot water for laundry, all purpose cleaner, bathroom cleaner, floor cleaner, even for dishwasher..

Here is the picture showing how much I have used to make the 2 gallons of laundry detergent and 6 Tbsp for three 700 ml spray bottle of cleaner. This will probably last before the end of the year

The other type is the 2L of Scrub Pink Solution to use on tough stains. I usually use this to clean my oven baking pan and my titanium stainless steel cookware. Love it on my hand.

And here is the only portion I tranfered on a small container.

Very concentrated so I only use about 1 tsp to scrub. This will probably last for 2 years. I haven't tried using it on my BBQ grill so I might be using it more on summer.

Pink Solution Combo cost me $50 at Costco online which will last for a year,  while for 2 pack of Ecos Laundry Detergent cost USD$34.99 x 6 = $209.94 a year.

Not to mention the other cleaning products that I can replaced by Pink Solution which I will be sharing with on this blog soon.

I already tried Laundry Soap recipe that will save me money too.

     1 Cup Ivory (grated)
     2 Cups Washing Soda
     Grind, mix and Shake

I used 1/2 Cup per load on my HE washing machine.

While I am happy with this recipe,  but I am happier with the performance of Pink Solution.

For Fabric softener, I used to buy Method Natural Liquid Fabric Softener for about CND$8 for 45 loads while I learned and experience that Pure White Vinegar is a very good, safe and cheap Fabric Softener. Believe me, when the clothes dry, you wont smell any vinegar on your clothes. I sometimes add scented Epson Salt so,

   1 Cup Vinegar
  1/4 Cup Epson Salt
15 to 25 drops of essential oil (scent is gone when the clothes dry)

I use about 1/2 cup for my HE washing Machine.

Saving me money makes me really happy without worrying the chemicals that is causing me and my family the annoying skin itch and rashes especially during winter season

Laundry Loads Can Ruin Your Weekend

Laundry Loads can really ruin your weekend. This is what happen to me that's makes my life as a working housewife very stressful.

I work full time before and the only time I can do household chores is during the weekend. But then sometimes the company will ask for a mandatory overtime. So ok, I'll do it next weekend, but then here comes the weekend and somebody invited us... Oh well ok, I'll load some and do the rest next weekend... but then we have to go somewhere which I promised the kids two months ago!!!!!

Do you imagine the loads of dirty clothes???? Ahhhh STRESS!!!!

So loading one to two loads of dirty clothes a day will help you save your weekend

I did two loads today!!! And I hang my clothes in my tiny dysfunctional bathroom in the basement that is close to the furnace which makes the clothes dry faster during the winter season.

I use the dryer a lot on Spring and Fall when it's always wet and cold outside to hang the clothes to dry and the furnace barely run..

And even if I am not working full time anymore, laundry and the rest of household chores can still ruin my weekend. So I do chores everyday one at a time and that includes laundry, quick vacuum, dusting, tidy up, wiping etc.. This way, dirt and dust won't file up and makes my deep cleaning on the weekend easier and faster.

Try it, and just do the foldings on the weekend.

Making My Bed To Start The Day

I always start my day by making my bed. Why??? First, I love seeing my bed nice and neat whenever I come inside my room.

Second, it's just a reminder for me that I am done sleeping and it's about time to start a productive day .

My house is small and old. I have 4 bedrooms upstairs and one small bedroom in the basement. Me and hubby stays in the basement. I like it cold and I have everything I need in the basement like my ingredients in making Homemade products in my basement little kitchen, which is few steps away from my room. I also like the fact that the laundry is right next to my room where I can just throw a load of laundry before or after I sleep.

We also have the big TV there and hubby love being there playing his play station.

My house is my Home...

Homemade Natural Moisturizing Body Wash and Body Cream Recipe

Today was a busy day. I worked from 10am to 4pm. But it's ok because tomorrow will be a slow day for me.

Anyway, I was surprise to learn that somebody was waiting for my blog update. I didn't actually know that she know about this blog but that's ok, at least I have an instant reader.

So as I've said on my Facebook, I don't have any plan to work full-time anymore so the least I can do is to save as much as I can to help the budget. Since I have the time to mix, melt, shake and steer, so why not do Homemade household products myself.

Me and family started having allergy when we moved here in Mississauga on year 2010. I don't know why but we really don't have any issue when we were residing in Etobicoke. I am guessing 2 possible reasons.

First, from a small townhouse with small front yard and no backyard, to a semi-datached house with a big backyard with a pretty much a medium size front yard, and of course my neighbors have the same size. So imagine all the grasses and plant around us. So we started sneezing, cold, sinus etc.. I don't even buy tissue box before. But now, the bulk tissue box from Costco last only a month or less, especially during allergy season.

Second, the water here is kinda hard. I sometimes smell chlorine on the tap water which probably the cause of our itchy, rashes and dry skin.

So I have to stop using, all this synthetic house fragrance and switch to burning Beeswax with few drops of my favorite essential oil on my electric wax warmer which is all over my house now. Thanks to Google for learning this because it really help. I used to drink allergy pills everyday, but now, only if I feel that allergy will attack me.

My doctor advice me to use mild or non perfum laundry detergent when I show him all  my rashes. These mild or non scented laundry detergents are still made from chemical so it didn't helped that much until I use plant based or natural detergent. |However, these natural or plant based laundry detergents are expensive. It was okey before, since I am working full-time, but now that I am not, this is kinda eating up our budget.

So on my journey in finding a cheaper laundry detergent, I found Pink Solution, which I will share to you on the following days to come on this blog.

Aside from the Pink Solution, what really excites me are all the recipes available on the internet for me to follow and to try what works. And I am so amazed to learn how much money I can save for doing my own household products. I actually tried some of the recipes which me and my family are using now, and one of which is the Moisturizing Body Wash, and Body Butter. or cream.

So this is the recipe for Moisturizing Body Wash. Very luxurious and I really love it. I also use this basic recipe as Hand Soap and even use it as feminine wash. I just change the type of essential oil.

I/2 Cup of Liquid Castile Soap
         1/2 Cup of Raw Honey
         1/2 Cup Coconut Oil
         20 drops of Essential Oil

I melt the raw honey and Coconut Oil together like butter and mix is all up. Shake Shake Shake and  yessss, a very luxuriois Moisturizing Body Wash. Very Cheap!!!! The only disadvantage I notice is that, my bath tub gets greasy faster than usual. But that's ok because my skin is more important than my Bath Tub. Beside, I have all the time to clean it often...

I purchased the Castile Soap and Raw Honey at Whole Food Market. Its half price cheaper to buy it at New Direction Aromatics but they have $100 minimum purchase so I'll buy it at New Direction Aromatics next time.

I usually use Lavender Essential for everything except for Kitchen Hand Soap where Tea Tree Essential Oil or Citronella is better for its antibacterial preperties.

For the Body Butter Recipe,

3/4 Cup of oil (Grapeseed Oil, Olive Oil or Coconut Oil)
1/4 Cup Beeswax
1 Tbsp Shea Butter or Cocoa Butter
20 drops of essential oil..

Mix and melt but not boiling
Cool then whip with spoon.
Looks delicious and smells so good!!!

Now I don't have to buy Body Wash and Lotion no more. All the ingredients I have right now will probably last a year. And I don't have to worry about the harmful Chemicals of all these Body Wash and Lotions I buy at the stores. This recipe will save us money !!!

Back To Blogging

Its been almost two years since I last posted on this blog. This is the only blog with domain that I have since I cancelled all the domain name of my other blogs. I just lost my motivation in blogging and making money in blogging for many reasons.

First I find it difficult to find time updating my blogs, and payout in blogging got cheaper and cheaper. I find it not worth my time and effort anymore.

I also, cancelled my Webstore for my Mineral Makeup products, because I got busy with my part-time business in cleaning residential houses. Oh yeah, extra money is faster and easier plus, at that time that, I know that the company that I was working with, is going to close so I thought I have to find a part-time job with faster earnings in case the company close since money in blogging is not as good as it was. And the company actually close last year 2015. My last day with the company was May 2015.

I was actually happy because I have been wanting to quit the job, but I thought that I need something in return for my years of service so I waited for this day. I thought of it as a blessing because the company gave us a reasonable separation pay.

I just totally lost my motivation in selling Mineral Makeups and natural products, and making money in Blogging. It's just too hard to do everything at the same time. I just wanted to enjoy my Employment Insurance benefits and the freedom to be a housewife. I was trying to catch up with my lost time being a wife and a mother. I am so happy, keeping my house clean and cooking for my family everyday.

And now, that my Employment Insurance Benefits expires, I thought of finding ways that can save money because I really don't have any plan to work full-time in any company, at least for now. I still have to see. I am accepting some residential help in cleaning and babysitting for extra income.

Recently, I learnef that I can make my own cleaning and personal products which I will share on this blog on the following days to come. Yes I will start blogging again on this blog.

I have been wanting to buy a domain name for my Mineral Makeup Blog since I terminated my webstore, to continue making and selling my Mineral Makeup, but Google made it hard to get a domain name now. I don't know if I have the time to learn how to do it. So for now, I will try to share and perhaps sell my products through this blog and probably advertise it somewhere.
